FHA 203k Renovation Loans

FHA 203k Renovation Loans

Buy the house and fix it up with one loan.

Turn a fixer upper into your dream home

The FHA 203(k) program lets you finance the purchase of a home and the cost of repairs or improvements in a single mortgage with one closing. It’s also available to current homeowners who want to refinance and renovate.

Two versions

  • Limited 203(k): for non structural repairs and updates such as kitchens, baths, flooring, roofs, HVAC and impact windows
  • Standard 203(k): for larger projects, including structural work, overseen by a HUD consultant

Why it works well in Florida

Older Tampa Bay homes often need a new roof, updated electrical or wind mitigation improvements before they can be insured affordably. A 203(k) can fold those improvements into your loan, which can help with insurability and long term costs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do the work myself?

Generally the work must be completed by licensed contractors. Curtis can explain the specific rules for the program you choose.

How long does a 203k take to close?

Renovation loans involve contractor bids and additional review, so they usually take longer than a standard purchase. Curtis will give you a realistic timeline up front.
